Obama on Trump win: ‘Anything is possible’...

The Hill
July 27, 2016
President Obama says he cannot rule out the possibility of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump being his successor.
“Yes or no, is it possible that Donald Trump wins the presidency?” NBC’s “Today” host Savannah Guthrie asked Obama during an interview excerpt released Tuesday night.
“Anything is possible,” Obama responded. “It is the nature of democracy that until those votes are cast and the American people, you know, have their say, we don’t know.”
Obama said he has seen the unexpected too often to discount Trump’s chances of winning the White House this November.
“Are you worried?” Guthrie asked him in the preview of the interview airing Wednesday morning.
“You know, as somebody who has now been in elected office at various levels for about 20 years, I’ve seen all kinds of crazy stuff happen. And I think anybody who goes into campaigns not running scared can end up losing.”
