The State Department’s Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 2015 says that the number of abortions done annually in that Communist country is about 23 million.
“The National Health Population and Family Planning Commission reported that 13 million women annually terminated unplanned pregnancies,” the report said. “An official news media outlet also reported at least an additional 10 million chemically induced abortions were performed in nongovernment facilities.”
That means that in China, 63,014 abortions took place each day, 2,626 abortions an hour, or 44 abortions per minute in 2015, according to the State Department.
Until now, 13 million was the number of abortions most often cited as taking place per year in China.
